Dubai has unveiled a groundbreaking initiative, Creators HQ, aimed at attracting 10,000 digital content creators and influencers to the city. This move positions Dubai as a premier global hub for digital media and the creator economy. The program offers participants exclusive support, including UAE Golden Visa applications, relocation assistance, and company setup facilitation.
Golden Visa & Support for Creators
The announcement took place at the 1 Billion Followers Summit, a major industry event where attendees represented a combined audience exceeding one billion followers. This initiative is backed by a substantial AED 150 million ($40.8 million) Content Creators Support Fund, introduced last year to foster talent and innovation in the digital space.
Actor Asad Raza Khan, a UAE Golden Visa recipient since 2022 under the actor category, highlighted the country’s commitment to nurturing talent in content creation, acting, and writing. As part of this initiative, Dubai is offering 10-year Golden Visas to 10,000 digital creators across various fields, including:
- Podcasters, visual artists, and media professionals
- Advertising and marketing firms
- Music producers, animation studios, and fashion brands
Additionally, the initiative seeks to collaborate with tech giants, including social media platforms, streaming services, gaming firms, and AI startups, to build a fully integrated creative ecosystem.
Dubai’s Vision for the Creator Economy
According to Forbes, Dubai is striving to become a leading destination for creators by offering world-class infrastructure, tax benefits, and specialized support. If successful, this initiative could solidify Dubai’s status as a global hub for digital content creation while significantly contributing to its economic diversification.
Industry Endorsement & Global Reach
The launch of Creators HQ at Emirates Towers marked the beginning of this ambitious endeavor, with 100 founding members from over 20 countries. More than 15 major industry leaders, including Meta, TikTok, and X (formerly Twitter), have endorsed the initiative.
Mohammad Al Gergawi, UAE Minister of Cabinet Affairs, emphasized Dubai’s goal of establishing itself as a global center where content creators can thrive, secure funding, and connect with investors to scale their reach.
Workshops, Training & Mentorship
As part of the initiative, Creators HQ plans to host over 300 annual events and workshops covering essential topics such as:
- Branding and storytelling
- Video production and audience engagement
- Monetization strategies and sponsorship opportunities
Additional mentorship programs, funding opportunities, and creative camps for young talent will further enhance Dubai’s reputation as a leader in the digital creator economy. With this initiative, Dubai continues to strengthen its position as the ultimate destination for content creators worldwide.
