A Sharjah-based security guard has hit the jackpot, winning Dh25 million after purchasing Big Ticket raffle entries for 10 years. Ashik Patinharath, a 38-year-old from Kerala, has been living in the UAE for 19 years and consistently bought tickets every month, hoping for his big win.
Despite living alone in Sharjah while his family remained in India, Ashik never gave up. His dedication paid off when he won the Dh25 million Big Ticket grand prize.
“I was shocked when I received the call. I wasn’t watching the live draw, so it was a huge surprise. After 10 years of trying, I finally won,” said Ashik.
Ashik plans to use his winnings to support his family financially and will continue buying Big Ticket entries. He advises others, “Keep buying tickets every month—your turn will come one day.”
Emirati IT Manager Wins BMW M440i in Big Ticket Draw
In the same Big Ticket draw, Mohamed AlZarooni, a 39-year-old Emirati IT Manager, won a BMW M440i. Mohamed started buying Big Ticket entries just five months ago after a friend introduced him to the raffle.
“I was very happy when I got the call. I’m still deciding whether to keep the car or sell it. But now, I’m even more excited to aim for the grand prize!” Mohamed shared.
